How did GQEX get started?
A few years ago, Quality Digest magazine and Ernst & Young did an industry study of ISO certified companies, and found that 93% of all the respondents were primarily interested in how to make more sales now that they were ISO certified. GQEX was conceptually born as a response to this market demand. Until GQEX, there was not a single database for the entire global certification community to put there customer data into, AND none of the previous attempts at “directories” offered any value-added sales tools and supply chain management features. So on May 2008, at the ASQ World Congress in Houston, TX, the Global Quality Exchange was first introduced to the quality management industry. Led by a management team of industry experienced executives from backgrounds at BSI, Intertek, Alcoa, AT&T, ANAB and the U.S. Department of State, GQEX has through partnership or acquisition consolidated all of the previously existing databases of certificates in North America. Our goal is to expand the international certifications already listed in GQEX, through additional partnerships in 2009.

Who is on the management team?
The Global Quality Exchange, Inc. (GQEX) is a Delaware corporation and wholly-owned subsidiary of Apogee Global Resources, Inc. (AGR). AGR is a stock holding company, formed in 2007 by a handful of private, accredited investors to make investments in the quality industry. GQEX is controlled by the same management team and Board as AGR.

Is it Free to be GQEX Listed?
Basic level GQEX Listing is FREE. Our certification clients’ data is submitted electronic online through a secure administrative portal by the accredited certification bodies, at no charge to them. This eliminates GQEX as a middle-man administrator, as much as possible, to improve data accuracy. Benefits of being GQEX Listed at this level includes listing of all your ISO and product certificates in the searchable GQEX database and links to appropriate GQEX partner procurement and corporate information sites and use of the GQEX Listed branding in your marketing collateral. Ask your auditor to send your certification data to us, call your certification body and ask them to send it, or call us directly at (866) 225-3122 to begin the process.

How can I use GQEX to manage my Suppliers?
As Direct Members of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), our management team knows what corporate purchasing managers go through to find, compare and manage their vendors/suppliers. We created the GQEX Research Package to provide advanced search (with visual mapping), analytics and supplier management list tools to make your job easier.

What is Software-as-a-Service?
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS, typically pronounced 'sass') is a model of software deployment where an application is hosted as a service provided to customers across the Internet. By eliminating the need to install and run the application on the customer's own computer, SaaS alleviates the customer's burden of software maintenance, ongoing operation, and support.
